Gettin' Started

I'm really excited about this game, now that I've been working on the concept for a couple days now.

I've decided on the three levels the game will include; Frog Song, Bye Bye Birdies, and Going Nuts. Each level is based off different ways animals deal with winter, whether it be hibernation, migration, or adaptation. In Frog Song, the level representing hibernation, the player must sing the frogs to sleep. In Bye Bye Birdies, the level for migration, you have to run the ducks through warm up exercises to get them ready for the big flight south. Lastly, in Going Nuts, the level about adaptation, the player must help an elderly squirrel locate his buried acorns, due to his memory issues.

I think my next move is going to be thinking about character design. I'd also like to start considering color palettes, which in a game that's going for such a specific aesthetic, is really important. I've been considering doing a limited color palette, but because the game is going to be very character and background heavy, I'm not sure it's ultimately a smart decision, so I'll be thinking about that in the coming days.

I'm excited to continue working on this project!
